Girls Wearing A Nirvana T-Shirt

Nothing against girls, but why is this suddenly "a thing?"

Walmart, Target, Costco, and even local shitshops seem to have racks and racks of "oh look at me, I am nostalgic and quirky and nerdy" T-shirts, but I challenge you to find a woman who can name 2 songs by Nirvana.

Or, any other white boy hard rock band pre-2000 for that matter.

Ironic?

It isn't edgy no matter how hard you try to sell it.
It can be cute, but really? Nirvana wrote a song called "Rape Me."[1]
And this is the worst. A girl wearing a Guns'n'Roses tee. History much?[2][3]

Yeah, I THOT So

Quote.png Today, on my first day back at school, I noticed an acquaintance of mine wearing a Nirvana shirt. This obviously sparked my interest and I struck up a brief conversation telling her how much I love nirvana and asking her what her favorite song was. She said she loved Nirvana as well and appeared to contemplate for a minute before shrugging and saying "Well, I hear it on the radio, but I don't really know the names". So, I'm naturally a little irked and asked her if she knew any lyrics, she shrugged again and hurried off.[4] Quote1.png

Quote.png “What’s your favorite album?” I asked. She said, “Oh, I’m not sure. I don’t really listen to them. My dad just had this shirt, so I took it from him.”[5] Quote1.png

OOOOH That's A Great Song...

But what is it about?
