x-9er was the channel founder and original owner of the Rizon channel #/sp/. Evidently, there is a lot of controversy swirling around this guy.

The following chat was an explanation for me, so that I might understand who this x-9er jerk really was. I have decided to keep it here for later "copy and paste" purposes incase those involved need to use this information again.

Transcript

<User 1>: tpuahsiew: For context, Tim Burke used to be the #/sp/ channel owner under the name x-9er (the name comes from how he used to always play as the 49ers in Madden, hence ex-9er) and was a speech professor at some dogshit Florida university, while also running a sports screencapping website

<User 1>: He got hired by Deadspin around 2011-12 and he immediately ditched us and moved far left in his public persona to fit in with the Gawker faggots

Of course, he played at Notre Dame.

<User 2>: His claim to fame was breaking the story Manti Teo had a fake GF[1][2] [3]

<User 2>: >After receiving an anonymous email tip in January 2013, reporters Timothy Burke and Jack Dickey of the sports blog Deadspin conducted an investigation into Kekua's identity. On January 16, they published an article alleging Kekua did not exist and pointed to a man named Ronaiah "Naya" Tuiasosopo (/roʊˈnaɪə ˌtuːjɑːsoʊˈsoʊpoʊ/ roh-NY-ə TOO-yah-soh-SOH-poh) as involved in the hoax of a relationship with Te'o

<User 1>: >Tim Burke, 35

Hurtakburke.jpg

<User 1>: Damn, he's 45 now

<tpuahsiew>: i wish i was 45 : (

<User 1>: >(“the monitor situation up there is insane,” said Burke’s wife, Lynn Hurtak.). Burke sits here alone in the dark day after day, for about 100 hours a week, watching dozens of sports events simultaneously.

Quote.png The profile from the Times is well worth a read, especially for the descriptions of Burke's bunker, where he uses 10 monitors and 26 video sources to watch all manner of sporting events from dusk until dawn. The man is dedicated.[4] Quote1.png

<User 3>: .quote negro slaves

<User 1>: After Deadspin got destroyed by Hulk Hogan (blessed), Tim Burke basically had a Patreon project pulling in $1000 a month[5] where he recorded every news channel into a massive archive because he wanted to be the next Marion Stokes[6]

<User 1>: He later became his wife's campaign manager when she ran for and got elected to the Tampa City Council[7]

<User 1>: She's the breadwinner in the "family" (they are childless and have two beagles) and her main job is managing USAID to West Africa[8]

<User 1>: You know, I should probably write this down somewhere

<User 1>: because I'm reciting this all from memory

<User 4>: deep channel lore

Burkelevarburton.jpg

<User 1>: One of his odd habits even after he got hired by Deadspin was that he would randomly pop into this channel and just say "negroeslaves"

<User 1>: always spelled "negroe"

<User 1>: and then he'd leave

<User 4>: i do find the mass exodus of people around 2016 to be particularly hilarious
