Shamelessly stolen from TOW[1] and placed here for quick reference. Yes, I had to use this information to settle an argument. Some people are dumb.
Further, I didn't list cities from other countries our continents because nobody cares about them.
Area
In some cases an incorporated place is geographically large because its municipal government has merged with the government of the surrounding county. In some cases the county no longer exists, while in others the arrangement has formed a consolidated city-county. This is why this list displays some areas that appear to be smaller in square miles, yet stating that the city's total area is larger.
Or, your city could be in Alaska...where everything is fucking huge.
The total square mileage includes both land area and sea/lake/ocean area.
- Sitka Alaska 4,815.1 square miles
- Juneau Alaska 3,254.7 square miles
