Maui Land Grab
In 2023, Maui (an island in the State of Hawaii) experienced a series of wild fires that destroyed over 5 billion dollars worth of property and killed at least 100 people. Before you could blink, the "experts" were saying that the fires were caused by dry conditions and "gusty conditions created by a strong high-pressure area north of Hawaii and Hurricane Dora to the south."[1]
But most people with common sense realized that there was something more nefarious going on, especially after you hear the state's govenor saying shit like this:
Yep, that's right. People's land was going to be taken away from them by the state. Why? Because the state is owned by wealthy investment firms, banks, and billionaires. Before the wild fires, these firms had been trying to buy up the land[2][3] but home owners wouldn't sell. I guess they needed some convincing...
